Past for Present
January 2021 - Present
Founder & President
Inspired by my grandfather, a Korean War veteran, I founded Past for Present to honor and preserve the fading legacy of those who served. As part of this initiative, I organized a three-day educational trip to Busan for the 70th anniversary of the war, helping students engage with history in a meaningful way.
During this time, I also interned under Legislator Ihn Yo-han at the National Assembly, where I attended conferences and contributed proposals for educational reforms to ensure that the sacrifices of Korean War veterans are emphasized in history curricula.
I later had the honor of serving as the youngest speaker at the Dedication Ceremony of the Korean War Memorial Monument in Fullerton, California. At the event, I was recognized with certificates from Congress-members Young Kim and Michelle Steel and featured in major media outlets such as the LA Times.
To further support veterans, I launched a crowdfunding campaign in which I designed and sold bullet-shaped keyrings as symbolic tributes. Through this initiative, I raised and donated over $1,500 to the Korean War Veterans Association.

Crowdfunding
I initiated this crowdfunding campaign to support Korean War veterans by raising awareness and mobilizing community backing for their welfare and remembrance. I believe that many veterans have not received enough recognition or assistance over time, and through collective contributions, we can restore dignity, pay tribute, and reinforce the legacy of their service.
I donated the proceeds of my crowdfunding campaign $1000 to support Korean War veterans.
